Self care is a funny thing. For some people it's about the bare minimum - feeding yourself, showering, basic tasks. Mental health is a huge factor.
Any article talking about self care defaults to "take a bath" as though it can fix modern problems. It's nice to take that time for ones self, but it isn't solving problems. It won't erase debt or relieve work stressors or family issues. For me it's a small amount of time where I don't think about those things.
I consider this piece a celebration of the mundane. It's good to appreciate the small moments of "me time" we have in a day.
