If I had made this painting 10 years ago, it would have been a statement of feminism, albeit, a little on the nose. Post 2020 maybe it still is. While my politics hasn't changed I've changed, and he world has changed.
In a 2024 lense this painitng is about the comfort I feel working from home. I don't have to present myself in a certain way, I can relax. A large part of office life is about presentation. There's an appropriate dress code, a way to appear and a way to talk. From home I am only required to be conscious of my online presence to my coworkers. It's a weight off, akin to removing a bra at the end of the day. A little dose of freedom.
